CASABLANCA SERVICES recruteaza pentru un important client din Cehia : Associate Architect • Provide consultation and leadership to multiple project teams • Ensure projects are aligned with the IS Strategy and compliant with technical standards. • Developing architectural designs for systems within the product portfolio. • Identify opportunities based on technical knowledge and industry trends. • Serve as the technical application design authority on multiple projects • Facilitate initial meeting with development lead to agree on process for design. • Establish regular meetings to review technical designs and provide mentoring and guidance. • Mentor development teams on object-oriented analysis and design of distributed, web-based architectures. • Mentor on all aspects of Java-based design (J2EE Architecture, application design, tooling, best practices, standards, etc.) • Maintain a knowledge base of emerging technologies and products. • Work with our software vendors to understand and leverage existing product capabilities and shape direction of the product to best benefit Staples. • Meet new vendors to increase awareness of technology trends and assess the potential benefits to Staples. • Create technical standards and best practices, leveraging industry standards. • Communicate and evangelize the use of standards and how the vision of a services-oriented architecture can be realized. • Create processes and techniques that will improve performance and maintainability of applications. • Perform technical assessments for a range of circumstances: application hosting, business acquisition, software vendor, etc. • Develop a deep understanding of business strategies. • Advise senior IS leadership • Provide architectural input to bid responses promoting reuse and alignment with IT standards. • Build and sustain commitment to IS strategy by mentoring lead developers and advising IS management. • Shape technical strategies by working with Enterprise Architect. • In collaboration with Enterprise Architect, create and maintain evolutionary plans and designs for deploying Service Oriented Architecture. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree preferred or technical training and corresponding experience in lieu of degree of sufficient depth and complexity to warrant evaluation. • Pluses: Masters of Science in Computer Science or related discipline, Specialized training or courses beyond college, Java certification or J2EE enterprise architect certification • Exceptional leadership, mentoring, listening and communication skills • Strong ability to influence without having direct authority. • Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting needs of stakeholders and development teams. • Possesses and exudes extraordinary optimism. • Business acumen, experience, and discipline to ensure business strategy and IS architecture align. • Ability to translate business strategy into technical terms and technology strategy into business terms. • Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex architecture problems resulting in appropriate decisions which factor in technical, business and organizational constraints. • Exceptional design abilities with a particular focus on object-oriented analysis & design, and Model Driven Development. • Exceptional ability in building architectures that business strategy & requirements with emphasis on business delivery, performance, availability, scalability, security, maintainability, extensibility, configuration, integration, systems management and operations. • Up to 10 years doing development or database administration in and application development environment. • 5+ years doing systems analysis • 5+ years experience designing large, complex systems of varying types: client-server, mainframe, distributed, component-based and services-oriented architectures. • 5+ years in a leadership role that provided technical oversight to multiple projects at the same time. • 5+ years experience building highly scalable, e-commerce systems that are based on J2EE technologies • Extensive knowledge and experience of integrating legacy systems. • Broad knowledge of one or more of the following: o networking concepts like load balancing o operating systems: Unix, Linux, Windows, OS/400 o hardware platforms: iSeries, pSeries, x86 o database technologies: Oracle, Informix, SQL Server o Enterprise storage technologies (SAN, NAS_ o Disaster recovery planning o System sizing and capacity planning o Knowledge of networking technologies o virtualization technologies: Citrix, VMWare or vendor-specific implementations • Clustering technologies • Knowledge and experience in a range of software development methodologies • You are determined and have a strong will to win. • Must have the ability to speak, read and write English fluently • An additional major European language skill a major asset. • Winning to occasional travel. • Ability to plan work and communicate progress within a management by projects environment.
