Job description:
The QA Manager will be responsible for establishing and developing the test center the company will establish in Bucharest, Romania for a total staff of more than 150 employees. The Romania Test Center will serve to supplement and extend the test capacity of the company and it will work in conjunction with the European development studios of the company. This position will report to the Director of Worldwide Quality Assurance and will include financial and operational oversight of the company’s QA structure in Bucharest. This offer is for a full-time position located at the offices of the Company in Bucharest, except, as travel to other locations may be necessary to fulfill your responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Manage the opening and start-up of the Romania Test Center;
Secure the financing and approval for all operational payments and manage the overall Bucharest QA budget within the limits approved by the Worldwide Studios leadership;
Supervise the day-to-day operations and ensure the proper functioning of the various departments of the company;
Perform/oversee recruitment as part of the ramp up of the QA activities;
Interface with the other departments within the global WWS structure in order to ensure a smooth flow of communication for the projects assigned to the Bucharest team;
Ensure correct methodologies are followed during the QA lifecycle of all products assigned to the Romania Test Center;
Report regularly to the appropriate parties in regards to the development of the operations and the product flow;
Offer status reports about the QA of games assigned to Romania Test Center to all appropriate parties;
Requirements:
Min. 8 years of project management expertise gained in software development, software testing, or a QA testing environment
Proven track record as a manager of large teams (at least 30+ employees)
Strong interest in gaming (ideally a passionate gamer – PC or console)
Strong multitasking, follow through, and follow up skills;
Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems;
Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills;
University degree;
Tenacity, willingness to succeed and total commitment to the project;
Desirable:
QA and/ or testing experience highly desirably
Games industry experience
Proven expertise managing large QA teams across multiple consoles and game types
Experience with game console certifications, as required by Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo
MBA or advanced technical degree from a reputable university
